The Bluegrass & Traditional Country Music Society of Australia is having a get together on Saturday 3 November at the Annandale Neighbourhood Centre in Sydney. It starts around 7PM. The cost is $7. The Neighbourhood Centre is at 79 Johnston Street, Annandale.

Andy Baylor was a sellout when he played at the Cooks River Motor Boat earlier this year. Well, for those who missed out and for those who want to do it again, it is on again at the Motor Boat Club on Saturday 27 October 2007 starting around 8PM.

I am told that the Motor Boat Club has more room this time around, however, if you want to make sure of your tickets, get in touch with the Club.

The official word is the it will be a  night of Western Swing, Cajun Waltzes, Two Steps, Country Soul, Boogie Woogie, Hot Fiddle Blues and Country Hurtin Songs. I think that covers just about everything.

For those of you who haven't left town for the long weekend, my recommended Sydney Country Music gig is Rob Luckey and the Lucky Bastards who are playing at the Cooks River Motor Boat club on Sunday afternoon.

The gig starts around 4.00PM. The club is at Holbeach Avenue in Tempe.

I guess that the Rugby League Grand Final day is always going to be a tough day for any live music gig, but, for those who are interested in both, the timing may be absolutely superb. You can probably watch the match at the Club straight after the gig.
